Overview
The EPS-650R is a high-voltage electrophoresis power supply built around a 12 Ah lithium-ion battery. It holds a set voltage to within one volt, meters current continuously and ends every run on a timer, so hemoglobin, serum protein and agarose separations finish cleanly even when the grid does not cooperate.
Uninterrupted runs, on the bench or in the field
Mains interruptions are the most common reason an electrophoresis run is repeated. The EPS-650R runs from its own battery and charges while it works, so a power cut never resets a run. The same unit goes into a vehicle or a community screening site without an inverter or generator.
Measured, not estimated
Output voltage and current are measured by a dedicated precision converter, not inferred from a dial position. The display shows live volts, milliamps, elapsed time and remaining battery, and the instrument alarms if current falls to zero (an open circuit or a dry tank) or rises past the limit you set.
Safety designed into the hardware
High voltage is only enabled when the tank lid interlock is closed. A hardware indicator shows when the output is live, independently of the firmware, and a bleeder network discharges the output within seconds of a stop. Outputs use shrouded 4 mm safety sockets.
