Overview
The HCT-D1 replaces the reading card and the judgement it relies on. It locates the seal, red cell column, buffy coat and plasma meniscus in a centrifuged microhematocrit capillary optically, and reports the hematocrit with an estimated hemoglobin value. Every result is timestamped, stored against a sample ID and ready to print or export.
Removes the reading card
Manual reading depends on aligning a card by eye, and two readers rarely agree to the percent. The HCT-D1 detects the column boundaries itself, including tubes that are not filled to a standard length, so results are consistent between staff and between shifts.
Traceable results
Results are stored with sample ID, operator and time. They can be printed on an optional thermal printer or exported over USB-C as CSV for a laboratory information system.
Works where the centrifuge works
An internal rechargeable battery gives a full day of readings, so the reader sits beside a centrifuge in a clinic, a blood bank or an outreach program without needing its own socket.
